It's in the NEWS! Dreamstime announces the launch of its new Editorial License. This exciting new image option frees photographers to cover world, national or local events of an important newsworthy nature without being concerned about getting model releases.

Images used to illustrate truthful articles do not require model releases as do images used for promotional or advertising uses.

Dreamstime can now present a much wider range of images geared to publications and web pages of an editorial nature. Images of current political scenes, social, sport and cultural events or other media events will be accepted and available almost on the spot.

They've launched a fixed, flat-rate system that's easier to use and provides the best value for the greatest freedom over how you use your image. Straight-forward availability. More of their contributors are opting in their portfolios for extended license availability, making it easier for you to get the image you need. You can search specifically for images opted-in to the Extended License program from your Advanced Search page. And you can always contact Client Relations if the image you want isn't opted into the Extended License Program, and they'll try to help.

2008 Credit Pricing and Extended License Adjustments

Beginning January 7th, 2008, iStockphoto will be adjusting the prices of their stock photographs and vector illustrations. Flash and Video prices will stay the same. Credits will still be available in bundles for as low as $0.97. See the new 2008 pricing structure here.

In addition to their new prices, iStock is changing their Extended License program. They've made things simpler by offering flat credit prices for the four different options, so you'll get more freedom to use the images you download at a single, fixed rate. See the complete details here.
